Baliram Singh, New Delhi

The term ‘Buddha’, ‘Krishna’, ‘Wahe Guru’ or Brahma does not pertains to a person but to the ever-pervading life force, the GOD consciousness.

According to the Buddhist philosophy, all human beings possess Buddha nature. But just as the clouds cover the sun, the three layers of mind, intellect and ego cover our true loving nature. This true nature is controlled by the cycles of our actions and karma. Each action, good or bad, leads to a memory, and the resultant desires due to memory conditioning instigate us to do those karmas again. Desire controls our five senses. Most of the times, we live in slavery of our sensual pleasures.

By nature, all human beings are pure like water. It is the stains of bad karma which makes them look dirty.

Tulku Thondup in his book “The Healing Power of Mind” writes “In the womb of a pregnant woman, although there is a child, we cannot see it, likewise we do not see our own ultimate sphere, which is covered by our emotional afflictions.”

Your true consciousness is embedded in each and every cell of the body. It is like putting sugar into the milk; once it is dissolved, you can only taste it but cannot physically find it. Buddha Nature can only be achieved by building positive Karmas. Darkness cannot be removed manually but even a ray of light can make a lot of difference.

Positive Karmas are the key to success. In thoughts, speech, and deeds, one should only perform positive Karma’s.

Love is our universal nature. Spreading the message of love can help one get rid of the past bad Karma’s. There are many examples of Do’s in various teachings guiding us how to perform good actions. One can follow either the four-way test of Rotary, eight limbs of Patanjali Yoga, seven spiritual laws of Deepak Chopra or ten commandments or teachings of Gita, Guru Granth Sahib, Bible and Buddha.

But the simple prescription is not to sleep, unless one has done one good deed on
that day.
